Blood on my hands: Part 2

   Blood on my hands by Todd Strasser is a amazing book it's in the combination between thriller and suspenseful book that would make you feel like you were there looking at it and apart of it because it's so specific and precise with the words. Blood on my hands is about a girl named Callie who is begin framed for her friend's murder and she has to figure out before the cops get her so that she doesn't go to jail. But then when she found out who did it she was totally shocked and surprised on who killed her friend Kathrine.

 To begin off with Callie trying too prove her innocents is that she believes it's one of Katherine's friends who don't really get along with her that well, Dakota, she thought that because she herd how them both were not talking for a month because Dakota met this guy she liked and then Katherine told the guy how Dakota's a "slut" and "has diseases" and then Dakota was mad so sent death threat's to the guy's phone about Katherine and him. Callie also thought it was Dakota because the knife from the crime scene looked like the set of knifes Dakota had in her kitchen. Callie was so convinced that Dakota killed Katherine that she even went to their congresswomen (which is Dakotas mom) to convince her that her own daughter killed Katherine, but it didn't work out for Callie she didn't believe her so she called the cop's so Callie went back to her hiding space but once she thought all cop's were gone and she went the sheriff was right there (which is Dakotas uncle) waiting for her to leave and she got arrested. But threw all that it wasn't Dakota who killed Katherine.

  So threw all trouble she went threw she eventually got arrested, when she got there they cops told her that Dakota didn't kill Katherine, then Callie was lost. Later her lawyer told her that she should take the self defense bargain because it looked like she wasn't going to go free but Callie wouldn't do it because she knew she didn't kill Katherine. And luckily she didn't take it because they let her go one morning and the only thing they had her do was wear a ankle bracelet and not leave the city, but she heard that her boyfriend Slade left town because he couldn't handle it so she went out of town to find him. When she found him he was in a bar then they went to the motel he was staying at and she slept the night but before that she cut off the ankle bracelet before getting in bed so he wouldn't be freaked out. In the morning they were woken up by the police at the door so once Callie opened the door she put her hands behind her back ready to go back to the police station but they walked passed her and said "Slade Lamont you are begin arrested for the murder of Katherine Remington-Day. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these right's as they have been read to you?" It all started off when Slade was in army training and people from his unit were being sent overseas but he didn't want to be sent overseas, he would do anything not to go overseas. It played out by Dakota offering Slade her mother can get him out of going overseas (her mom had no idea about that), as long as Slade would do something for her. The thing Dakota wanted Slade to do was take the knife that Dakota had stolen from Katherine's house and scare her with it. The reason Dakota wanted him to do this is because Katherine was a lesbian who liked Callie (that's why she made Callie break up with Slade) and Dakota had a crush on Katherine but she didn't want to be a lesbian, so she thought killing her would make the feeling's go away. Once Slade was there to scare Katherine she realized it was him under the mask so she mocked him by saying stuff and taunting him and laughing, and Slade was depressed because Callie broke up with him but he didn't know why she did but when Katherine told him that she forced Callie to break up with him then he just killed her with all the rage he had inside.

  Overall this is a book that kept me on the edge of my seat every page and you should really read this teen thriller by Todd Strasser. This book is a perfect example of social justice because a young girl was about to be sent to jail over someone else's crime but at the end justice came to the person who did the crime. This book is amazing if you like thriller's so if you do this is one you would want to read.             

Blood on my hands

Blood on my hand's by Todd Strasser is a really great book that seems like a movie and you can really get hooked into the book like a movie. Blood on my hands talks about a girl named Callie who is begin framed for a murder of her friend Kathrine because their is a photo of her holding a knife over the body so threw out the book she look's for help with friend's and her ex boyfriend to prove she didn't do it. 

To start off with one thing Cali tries to do to prove her innocents is.So Cali heard that the reason Katherine and Dakota wasn't talking for a month and Dakota not sitting with them was more than just bickering so she went to a kid who she heard was in the middle of the hole thing. When she got to him he was shocked to see a fugitive in his presents but he told her that Dakota was really into him and he was going to go with her but then Katherine said some lies to griffin about Dakota and Dakota was so mad she send death threats to both griffin and Katherine. So Callie believes that's motive for Dakota to kill Katherine.

 As my final point, when Callie found Katherine's body their was a knife so she picked it up (I don't know why she did) and once she did Dakota and her friends showed up and then took a pic but Dakota was the first one to say she killed her. Later on in the book when she was trying to get evidence she remembered that the same knife that was at the crime scene Dakota has a same set of knife in her kitchen, so now Callie is positive that it was her. I think that this hole thing is begin planed by her friend Mia because all evidence clearly points to Dakota and mulitipil times in the book they say Dakotas smart so she wouldn't be that obvious with the evidence but I could be wrong?

Overall this book can tell you that teenagers can be devious and mulniplutive  and if you have family and friends in high power you can probably get away with murder.  That's what Dakota May be using to get away with murder. Finally this book is the best thriller book I've ever read so I hope that you will be able to get your hands on this book.

Persepolis

                               

     Persepolis is one of those books that you can really read over and over again because it's so interesting and entertaining. Persepolis talks about a girl named marji living in a tough country were a war is happening and she wants to be involved in every thing that's happening there but she is only a kid at, first. Marji is a teenager but her parents believe she is old enough to do some stuff and other things they believe she is not ready to do the things grown ups do, that's something most teenagers can relate to.


Furthermore in one part of the book on page one hundred and seventeen she does something bold just to make a statement, like most teenagers would do. She goes into her basement and take the cigarette that she had stolen from her uncle before and smokes it and while smoking it she says ''with this cigarette I kiss my childhood goodbye". I believe she did that because on the way to the basement she talks about how she believed her mother was acting like a dictator to her because she was telling her what to do all the time and she felt smoking the cigarette was the way to prove that she was old enough to make her own decision's. I think that when teenagers parents tell them what to do they believe that they don't know what's best for them so they do some sort of rebellion against them and I think that's what marji was trying to accomplish by smoking that cigarette.


As a final point, one time her parents were going out to protest for the war that is happening in their country and they left marji with a babysitter. So when the parents left they were shocked that marji didn't ask to go with them because she's always asking and their always saying no but the reason marji didn't ask to go with them is because she had a plan to go anyway. So once they were out the door she said to her babysitter "are you ready" and the babysitter said for what and marji said to go to the demonstration but the babysitter didn't know marji was planning for that until that moment but marji convinced the babysitter to go with her anyway. When teenagers or just anyone want to do something but they can't do it with the person that told them they can't they would usually find someone weak and willing to do anything with them to tag along with them. That's what marji was doing their with the babysitter and her parent's.


Overall this book show's us how if your a teenager but you want to do adult thing's you will probably find a way to do that thing your trying to do but will have to disobey your parent's order to not do that thing. That's what marji did for a part during the story. To add on this book can be a real connection to teenagers because it show's many thing's teenagers do that's one of the reason's I really liked this book. So with all that said about Persepolis I encourage you to go and read this book about the life of marji Satrapi.   
  

                                                   

MY READING LIFE

Hi my name is Byron Hughes ,I love to read in my bed at night because I'm more into my book. Also the types of books I like to read at night is drama,comedy,mystery and sports books for example a couple of my favorite sports books is by Mike Lupica and one of them is million dollar throw and heat. One of my favorite mystery books was a comic book and the title of it was Watchmen by Alan Moore. I don't really remember some of my favorite drama or comedy.

Me as a reader is I don't base a book on it's cover or what it says on the back because most of the time the books with the most ugly cover or with the most boring back turns out to be the best. Or it can be the other way around and i could be in the middle of the book and realize it's really boring, like for an example Paper Towns by John Green.

My summer reading was kinda stale because I didn't really read that much but I did read a couple sports articles and read a couple books like watchmen but other than that I didn't read a lot of really big books. That was my summer reading.
